Bedford Christmas Tree Festival 2024: 4 – 8 December at St Paul’s Church, Bedford
Each year, over five days in December, the Bedford Christmas Tree Festival lights up St Paul’s Church as the jewel in Bedford Borough’s festive crown – while raising money for charity too.
The festival welcomes thousands of visitors to enjoy music and performances by local community groups and schools, and to explore the display of more than 65 Christmas trees decorated by local schools, community groups and businesses; this year’s theme for the decorations is ‘The Magic of Christmas’.
In addition to the trees and performances, there will be a competition for children to find images of magical characters hidden in the branches of the Christmas trees and the chance to vote for their favourite tree.
Refreshments and a raffle will also be available.
It’s not all about the trees
There is also the opportunity to enjoy the Bedford Christmas Tree Festival at two very special events.
Friday, 6 December from 7:30pm: Christmas Tree Festival Concert
We are delighted to announce this year’s concert will be performed by the Amici Music Woodwind Ensemble. In the wonderful setting of St Paul’s Church, lit by the twinkling display of the Festival’s 65+ Christmas trees, the programme will include pieces by Handel and Mozart and seasonal favourites. Tickets (£20) can be purchased online, by phone 01234 783181, or by emailing festivalconcert@stpaulschurchbedford.org.uk.
Wednesday, 4 December 6-9pm: Fizz at the Festival
Enjoy fizz and canapes at this private viewing of the Christmas trees with decorations inspired by ‘The Magic of Christmas’. Tickets (£10) can be purchased by phone 01234 340163 (10 – 4pm Monday to Friday) or by emailing fizzatthefestival@stpaulschurchbedford.org.uk.
Last year, we raised £24,000
This year, as always, we hope to raise as much money as possible.
All money raised from this year’s Festival will go towards both funding Bedford Hospital’s children’s cancer services appeal and the upkeep of Grade 1 listed St Paul’s Church, and its continued support to Bedford and the wider community.
Entry to the Festival is £3 and free for children under 16. (Tickets available on the door).
We are very grateful to all our sponsors and supporters including Jayne Beard Associates which is very kindly sponsoring the Festival again in memory of Jayne Beard, a former Chair of the Bedford Hospital Charity.
