Christmas Tree Festival 2021 & plans for 2022

Despite Covid restrictions and fears about even having a Festival £13,411 was raised. The proceeds were split between St Paul’s Church and the Bedford Hospital Charity & Friends “£1m for Bedford A&E Appeal”. Thank you to all the sponsors, decorators, singers and volunteers who made this tremendous sum possible.

It took 280 volunteers to plant the trees, decorate the trees, steward and man the desks in order for the Festival to take place. In addition, 600 children and adults sang over the five days, and we think about 4,000 people enjoyed visiting the Festival or attended the church services, Fizz at the Festival and Festival Concert. All in all, it was a great effort by our Bedford Community to celebrate Christmas.

Please put these dates in your diaries for this year’s Festival. The 2022 theme will be based on Musicals. I am sure our decorators will all love interpreting this theme as the scope is so wide from Cats to Wizard of Oz!

Dates for 2022:

Decoration of the trees: Tuesday 29th November 2022
Open to the public: Wednesday 30th November to Sunday 4th December 2022
Collect Decorations: Monday 5th December 2022.
