The Bedford Hospitals Charity was founded in 1988. Since then, it has raised more than £10 million for large and small projects at the hospital. The major ones are listed below.

  • 2000 Primrose Oncology Unit – £2,350,000
  • 2005 Care of the Elderly/Victoria Ward – £92,000

  • 2006 Radiotherapy Patient Transport – £50,000
  • 2007 DEXA Scanner – £78,000

The Charity continues to raise funds for significant capital and equipment projects at the hospital. It has an excellent relationship with the Hospital NHS Trust and all projects are agreed with the Trust in advance.
