The Christmas Tree Festival held in St Paul's Church is now a firm favourite in the Bedford Christmas Calendar. This year’s theme Stories for Children we are sure will unleash the creative talents of our many dedicated tree decorators who represent Clubs, Schools, Local Businesses and other organisations. The Festival will be opened at 10.45am on Wednesday 6 December by Julia Jarman, well known local author of children’s books. Following this, Julia will sign her books for sale. A series of daytime concerts by local schools and communities will be held throughout the week.
We are delighted that the group, Cellophany, a very talented ensemble of eight cello players are making a very welcome return this year for our Christmas Concert on Saturday 9 December. Their recital will include a performance of their new work composed for this year Wind in the Willows. This has been the inspiration for choosing the theme Stories for Children for this year’s Festival. For more details and to buy tickets, click Christmas Concert.
A huge team of volunteers is always required to put on this Christmas Festival from helping to prepare the Church, manning the pay points, taking part or helping with the daily children’s and community concerts and not to forget the important sponsorship and decoration of trees. More information will be available closer to Christmas but If you would like to help or want more information on how you can help please contact the Festival Chairman, Margaret Oakley on email@example.com or 07909 521997.
